Super Furry Animal’s frontman Gruff Rhys is set to reactivate his Neon Neon group in 2012. The project, which is a collaboration with electronic musician Boom Bip, explored sleek '80s pop tropes on the Stainless Style album back in 2008. With the entire indie-rock underground still enthralled with that decade, it certainly feels like the right time for Neon Neon to resurface.
To celebrate the reactivation of the group, an unreleased track from the Stainless Style sessions has been issued, named "Wheels." This is part of a compilation album titled Complex, which is being issued to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Lex Records label, and also includes Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and DOOM's "Retarded Fren" collaboration.
