"Red Tide" (Live on Fallon) (Video)

Neko Case has already done the rounds on the late night TV talk shows as she promotes her Middle Cyclone album, with performances on Conan O'Brien and David Letterman’s shows. But she missed out on relative newcomer Jimmy Fallon first time around, so she rectified that with a performance of “Red Tide” last night (Nov. 17).

 

There’s not much for Fallon’s “band bench” members to do as Case delivers this mid-paced track with the aid of a full group behind her. Case has claimed that Middle Cyclone has strong thematic ties to the natural world, and the lyrics to “Red Tide” certainly bear that out.

She *does* have an amazing voice. I remember being bummed when Neko wasn't w/ New Pornos when I saw them...but then, it turned out, other gal had amazing voice too. Carl Newman is one lucky dude.

i loved her Boston show. greatest mic pull-back technique for volume attenuation ever. what a voice.

if you think one duff performance = career death, wise up man.
