In this video for "Cough Up the Bucks," Neil Young wonders about how the economy could have tanked so hard from the back of a limo, which I suppose is supposed to be some metaphor for how the people who crashed the economy were insulated from the real world by sitting in limos. But it's just as likely that Neil's video budget was small and he felt like taking a drive.
"Cough Up the Bucks" is awfully repetitive, making it's point in five minutes when 35 seconds was more than enough. The song is on Neil Young's upcoming album Fork in the Road, which is allegedly about the electric car. Learn all about the electric car and bucks being coughed up on April 7. [ Pitchfork ]
