Native Korean Rock & The Fishnets

Day Go By and Comes the Night (Live) (Video)

At the debut show for her new side-project, Native Korean Rock & The Fishnets, at Union Pool on Monday, Karen O. and band were outfitted in Sailor-themed outfits, and the band played a bunch of new tracks, some of which, including these two videos, aren’t featured on Native Korean Rock’s MySpace.

“Day Go By” is one of those—it’s a shuffling rocker that finds Karen O. sounding a whole lot like Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders. “Comes the Night” is of a different type—it’s a slow, short ballad that floats along like a leaf on a lake.
There’s no word on if there’s a Native Korean Rock album in the pipelines for Karen (although there is that third Yeah Yeah Yeahs record), and if she’ll be bringing the band out again anytime soon.

aww! karen + the band looks absolutely adorable in the sailor outfits. But anyways, i'd love to see a EP at least come out of this project! I love this side of her.

And did anybody think that "comes the night" sounds strikingly like the yyy's 'modern romance' (at least the guitar part)?
