Production team N.A.S.A. have teamed up with Yeah Yeah Yeah's frontwomen Karen O to remix Bob Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff."
The song, which originally appeared in a Sonos commercial during the Grammy Awards, uses a reggae inspired guitar as a base, but is built into something completely different from Marley's original. Gun shots, lasers, synths, and layered vocals can all be found in the N.A.S.A. adaptation, and though it takes a few seconds to adjust to the drastic difference, by the end the overall product feels just as natural as the original.
This isn't the first time Karen O has given her take on iconic songs, in 2011 she and Trent Reznor covered Led Zepplin's "Immigrant Song." You can listen to the cover of "I Shot The Sheriff" below, and also watch a video of Marley performing the song live.
