Jokers of the Scene are the greatest thing to hit Ottawa since the Wisconsin glacier. The trance remixers have been on the climb due to a pretty great Mishka mixtape, and have even scored a spot opening for Soulwax in Toronto on August 10. Now the group have remixed Muscles’ “The Lake,” a thumper with a heavy bassline that is only improved bythe remix.

Jokers of the Scene are mostly on tour in Canada, and you can check dates at their MySpace. Muscles, meanwhile, have retired to Australia to begin work on the follow-up to the album on which “The Lake” originally appears, Guns Babes Lemonade, which is out now via Modular. [Pitchfork]
