Like many artists have done over the past two years, Murs took to Twitter to respond to the hate being directed to his latest single with Terrace Martin. It turns out that a lot of people weren't feeling the '80s-fueled "Melrose," the titular track off their forthcoming album together. And in addressing the feedback for that cut, Murs noted that the doubters will likely be sated by his forthcoming Varsity Blues 2 record.
While no details were given on the album, it was clear he was referring to his hardcore fanbase that had likely been ailing for a follow-up to his 2002 EP, Varsity Blues. That was until last night, when Aesop Rock's artist community site, 900bats, posted the first leak off Varsity Blues 2. The title-track, which features a heavy, atmospheric Aes Rock beat, features Murs rhyming like the Murs of old, meaning he's reflective, introspective, and harsh on everyone, especially himself.
