Murs' debut on Damon Dash's BluRoc Records, Love & Rockets Vol. 1: The Transformation, features the once-dreadlocked rapper collaborating solely with producer Ski Beatz. It will serve the Los Angeles resident's first release since this past March's flawed The Melrose, which was a light-hearted joint effort with Terrace Martin.
Whereas Murs sounded out of his element on that record, he's right at home over Ski's jazzy live instrumentation on Love & Rockets. This is evident on latest single "Remember 2 Forget," a relationship-heavy narrative that finds itself unravelling throughout the course of Murs' verses. Director Shruti Parekh no doubt took notice of the rapper's rhymes, which set the tone for the above video.
