The song sees K.R.I.T. venting about the music industry, rapping “five albums in, I swear a country nigga snap/thought they wanted trap, thought they wanted bass/thought they wanted molly, thought they wanted drank.” K.R.I.T. also addresses Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse in which he was referenced, saying “that Control beat is like an ugly bitch that everybody done fucked raw….ask me about this Kendrick shit/that he ain’t even really diss me on/I ain’t drawn to all this propaganda/rap shit about as real as Santa.”
“Mt. Olympus” is produced and mixed by K.R.I.T. himself, as he says: “hope the hook wasn’t too simple/either way nigga, I wrote it/ yes, I made the beat, yes, I mixed the track.” The song is set to appear on K.R.I.T.’s upcoming album, Cadillactica.
