“Mr. Rager” (Video)

Kid Cudi’s sophomore album, Man on the Moon II: Legend of Mr. Rager, might have dropped in November 2010, but that doesn’t mean the Cleveland rapper is done promoting it. And it’s not like he just thrown together some sloppy visuals for its latest single, “Mr. Rager.” Cudi and director Jeremie Rozan, of Surface to Air Studios, kind of went all out here. The above video isn’t so much your standard music video as it is a mini-action movie with “Mr. Rager” playing in the background. It takes us back to the mid-to-late ’90s, when artists like R. Kelly and the Notorious B.I.G. were reaching for that mini-film status with their videos. We might not be the biggest Cudi fans here at Prefix, but this is one hell of a flick.

Man on the Moon II is out now.
