We’ve already seenMos Def hooking up with Gorillaz on Jools Holland’s show last week to perform a version of “Stylo” from Plastic Beach. But the hip-hop star also took the opportunity to deliver a live version of “Quiet Dog Bite Hard” from last year’s The Ecstatic.
This is a slightly different version of the song to the one that appeared on the album. It retains the sparse atmosphere of the original, but is mostly notable for Mos flexing his skills as a drummer/percussion player and managing to retain his lyrical flow at the same time—a not inconsiderable feat.
While his flow is slightly off on here, I still commend him for again playing drums and rapping at the same damn time. Although, he did it better last year on Letterman when he didn't use any cymbals in his performance.
