Mos Def still hasn't made a top-to-bottom great solo album (although The New Danger came close), but fans of the Brooklyn M.C. are still holding out hope that his new one, The Ecstatic, will finally deliver on all of Def's promise. Mos Def just about a short freestyle and a video teaser for the album, announcing that it will be out sometime this Spring. Of course, I'll believe it when I see it. [RealTalkNY]
That's a cool trailer. I still wouldn't be shocked if this got pushed back another few months though.
holy brown dog nuggets, are you saying that the new danger is better than black on both sides?
I gotta roll with Omnis on this one. Black on Both Sides >>>> The New Danger. Atlhough I found it to be disappointing.
I like them both equally, more or less.
I'm a Black on Both Sides lady, I reckon it qualifies as a great album though I am looking forward to The Ecstatic...Spring he says...hmmm
I'm still trying to figure out what exactly made Black on Both Sides disappointing? I thought it was his top-to-bottom great solo album.
Did I not get the memo or something?

Black on both sides..second track is Hip Hop..second last is Mathematics.......top-to-bottom one of the most complete solo albums ever!
