Mos Def’s The Ecstatic is winning critical plaudits, and has even been sold in a unique format—if you buy a T-Shirt with the album cover on the front, you get a free digital download of the record. The hip-hop star has also been playing live, and pays a unique tribute to Michael Jackson in this clip.
The fan-shot video was taken at the House of Blues in Chicago, where Mos Def did his own unique version of Jackson’s “Billie Jean.” It’s a much slower, somewhat labored version of the song, which begins with a spoken word tribute to the King of Pop and is followed by some oddly stilted dance moves.
