Morrissey has been promoting his
Years of Refusal
album with some low-key dates that have had fans clamoring for tickets. The fervor that sets in when the former Smiths singer is in town hasn’t wilted, with Newsday’s music blog even going to great lengths to list the
top 10 things Morrissey said
from the stage at Saturday’s (March 21) Bowery Ballroom show.
He continued to promote the album with an appearance on
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
last night. “Black Cloud” isn’t really fit to stand shoulder to shoulder with the many highlights from Morrissey’s back catalog, but he makes a valiant attempt at pumping some life into the song. And does Fallon really say, in his introduction: “…his 25 year career with the
Smith
and as a solo artist”?
You kind of have to forgive Fallon; poor dude spits out so many gaffes (I counted four yesterday). I was hoping for a Roots-Morrissey collaboration, though.
