The day after they appeared on Conan, Monsters of Folk released the video for "The Right Place," the second single from their self-titled debut. Unlike "Say Please," "The Right Place" is mostly a Jim James joint; he's leading Oberst, M. Ward and that dude from Bright Eyes (Mike Mogis) on this one, with the other guys' voices only really beaing heard during the choruses. The video is shot in presumably the band's practice space, which just happens to look like your nana's backyard (peep the dwarves).
Monsters of Folk is out now. [Pitchfork]
This stuff sounds almost exactly as expected, no?
I just can't get into this stuff. Not that its horrible, just feels like instead of getting stronger together, everyone gets a little watered down.
