Modest Mouse

"King Rat" (Video) (NSFW?)

In addition to being an excellent video, the most notable thing about the clip for Modest Mouse's "King Rat" is that it was started by Heath Ledger, who was in the midst of directing and overseeing it when he died in Jan. 2008. The clip was finished by a production company called the Masses (who counted Ledger as a member), and it's out now since "King Rat' is on the Modest Mouse rarities collection No One's First, And You're Next, which is out today

The clip was made to protest illegal whale killing off the coast of Australia, and while it starts sweetly (a whale-piloted ship rolls around a choppy sea), it ends with whales harpooning humans. If you see only one video this year with whales killing and skinning humans (it might be NSFW), make it this one.

To watch the clip, head to MySpace.
