Modest Mouse

"History Sticks to Your Feet" (Audio)

This track is the B-side to another Modest Mouse "7 single, the upcoming "Perpetual Motion Machine." "History Sticks to Your Feet" puts the horns to the side and features a light and feel-good guitar riff at its core while drums, distortion, and another guitar alternatively compete for the foreground. The song begins and ends with an effect reminiscent of the interludes on The Moon and Antarctica, a comparison that makes me very excited about the band's new work. [Pitchfork]

On an aesthetic level, this should be getting me excited as well. It has the structure and tone of the former, more exciting Modest Mouse. But I just am not. I dunno. I guess, I might be kinda done with them. *sigh*
