"Party in the U.S.A." is the best pop song about national unity that anyone will release this year, including when we get a Kanye West/Taylor Swift collab around Christmas. This is because Miley Cyrus is unimpeachably a real American. Sure, she goes to award shows and she's famous, but she's Disney Channel famous and she espouses Christian values whenever she gets the chance. In "Party in the U.S.A.," Miley's singing about how she went to godless, hedonist L.A., which every real American knows is populated exclusively by abortionists, pedophiles and scientologists. She's freaking out a little bit, everyone's wearing stilettos and drinking blood, and....wait, wait! OMG THEY'RE PLAYING JAY-Z AND BRITNEY SPEARS. Well shit, Miley didn't know that people who haven't accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior like the same music that she does! Looks like LA ain't so bad after all.
Then, for the song's video, she pairs it up with the best Levi's commercial that anyone will release this year. It happens in some sort of desert hangout that is filled with male gymnasts and lady dancers who are dressed almost exactly the same way Miley is, which means short-shorts, cleavage out and just generally looking straight-up fecund. Whatever ya'll, they're not sexualizing a 16-year-old, Miley's just trying to "fit in."
