During their set at All Points West earlier this month, MGMT showed off their knowledge of first generation kiwi pop by covering the Clean's "Anything Could Happen," from the 1981 EP Boodle Boodle Boodle. MGMT's version sticks fairly close to the original, although the vocals are a bit more melodic than David Kilgour's monotone delivery. This is a sure sign the MGMT kids (sorry) are excited for the Clean's first album in eight years, Mr. Pop, which is out via Merge on September 8.
