Mew, those delectible Danish rockers who in 2006 released their excellent U.S. breakthrough album And the Glass Handed Kites, have graced Prefix with the exclusive premiere of the 7th episode of their video diary. The band has given us a tongue-in-cheek explanation of their next album. That distorted sound at the beginning of the video is not a glitch—it's an intentional effect created to accuentuate the string theory explanation of the "neither real nor unreal" description of Mew (the particle. Rich Costey, the producer of Mew's upcoming album gives the narration of a would-be CERN report. He gives a rather Shining-sounding prophesy of the place where the next album exists: a place where "all notes are equal...resulting it a hell pit of fire and damnation." Ultimately, it's looking like an intriguing new album, and it was certainly recorded in a swank studio.
This is pretty awesome and well done.
didn't like their last album, but I'm interested to see what they will come up with
very excited for this. 'Glass handed Kites' and 'Frengers' are 2 of my all-time favorite albums
