Today, noisy Toronto rockers METZ released their debut self-titled album on Sub Pop, along with a video for album highlight “Wet Blanket.” Directed by Scott Cudmore and Michael Leblanc, whose previous work as a team include videos for other Canadian indie rockers like the Rural Alberta Advantage, Timber Timbre and Fucked Up, the video primarily follows an unhappy-looking blonde as she performs some strange magic/hypnosis on people she sees around town. The video builds upon the song’s aggression with tense stop-motion editing, lots of smoke and characters who don’t smile. Cool.
