Last time we saw Metronomy was via a version of “The Look” from The English Rivieraon Jools Holland’s show. This reworking of the same song for KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic is a less flashy affair, with the group members holed up in a studio setting and foregoing the chance to show off their push-button light costumes. There’s definitely a strong similarity between Metronomy and the kind of dance-inflected songs Hot Chip often comes up with-- Joseph Mount’s vocals even bear that same kind of tender tone that can be found in the best Hot Chip tracks.
