The new album by Metronomy, The English Riviera, has significantly raised the band’s profile in their native U.K. This performance on Jools Holland’s show takes a track from that record and gives it a live airing, ultimately demonstrating their skilled way with delicate electro-pop songs. “The Look” is built around an ever-repeating stab of house-y synth and the hushed vocal of Joseph Mount, which is given a neat visual counterpart in the push button lights the band members strap to their chests. The English Riviera is out now on the Because Music label.
