Canadian electro-indie rockers Metric showed up on David Letterman’s show on Friday (July 17) to promote the Fantasies album. Singer Emily Haines undoubtedly possesses some star power, and wears one of her signature sparkly dresses for this run through of “Help I’m Alive.”

It’s solid if unspectacular stuff, with Haines doing her best to carry the paper-thin song while the boys in the band churn out some unremarkable riffs. Letterman seems impressed, and salutes their joint Texan and Canadian backgrounds at the close of the song.
