Action Bronson, you got competition. Another light-skinned, ginger-bearded MC rocking the mic is Aaron Cohen, who’s been making waves online and in his new home of NYC of late. Following up on the A$AP Ty Beats-produced “Feminist” and “Helen Keller,” Cohen debuts the visuals for “Mess With Us,” which also comes off his upcoming MURK mixtape, out Sept. 25.
In the Nicolas Heller-directed clip, the Inner City Kids rep gets comfy on his couch and delivers a pretty relatable monologue over the sparse yet thumping beat. “What, I need Pitchfork to tell me how dope I am?/ Like I need accountants to tell me how broke I am,” he raps, addressing a good portion of today’s indie rappers, I’m sure.
Check out the video below, and download “Mess With Us” over on Bandcamp if you’re digging the track. In the NYC area next week? Catch Aaron play live at the Brooklyn Mishka store on Friday, Sept. 28. Details here. [HT]
