Menomena: "TAOS"
Portland trio Menomena has a new album coming out on July 27 through Barsuk Records called Mines. Today, they dropped a completely confusing new track called "TAOS," that will probably spin the heads of most people familiar with their previous albums. Somehow, they manage to cram scorching blues leads, hypnotic piano parts, and their usual baritone sax work into one dizzying five minute track. Even more puzzling is how much all of that manages to make sense in the same song, but then again, Menomena has always been pretty willing to dive into new sounds at a moment's notice.
