MEN is a three-piece outfit partly formed by JD Samson of Le Tigre, and the band members describe themselves as “a Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective.” You may think you have too many Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collectives in your life already, and you’d probably be right, but Men at least have some decent songwriting chops, as the fizzy pop influenced groove of “Off Our Backs” demonstrates. Head over to the iTunes store to check out the recorded version of this song, but this is primarily a band that functions best in the live arena, as the recent Santos Party House show at CMJ demonstrated.
