Memory Tapes only rides with the pulsing and woozy sound he made his name on for the first minute of "Today Is Our Life" before things get a little strange. The tempo picks up substantially, and the track runs a few victory laps, complete with a synth guitar solo. The track goes through similar shifts throughout its five minute-plus running time, but it's definitely worth experiencing first-hand rather than just have it described in length. In addition to appearing on Something In Construction's Love SIC Disco compilation, "Today Is Our Life" will also be appearing on Memory Tapes' upcoming sophomore album. If that's the case, expect an album nothing like his first one. [Guardian]
love this track. dude is far too good to be lumped in with the "chillwave" set.
