Megafaun, aka the other dudes from DeYarmond Edison who aren't Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, are releasing their third album this summer. The record, titled Heretofore, is technically a mini-LP, but it features the same Band-reminiscent roots rock that the band has been showcasing since their 2008 debut. Pitchfork has an exclusive stream of the first track from the album, "Volunteers." It's not a cover of the Jefferson Airplane track, but it's probably better in that it seems impossible that Megafaun will someday become a band that writes stuff like "We Built This City."
Heretofore is set to be released sometime this summer.
