The videos keep on coming from Mayer Hawthorne's blue-eyed/retro-soul 2009 debut, A Strange Arrangement. But this time around he's moved away from the sad-sack motif of "I Wish It Would Rain" for slightly goofy, happy-go-lucky visuals for "One Track Mind," one of the album's quicker, more lighthearted affairs. Also, unlike his other videos, Hawthorne's stepped back and allowed another thick-framed skinny guy to act as the protagonist. Truth be told, the whole concept is a little creepy at times, but maybe mannequins just freak me out and no one else. It was nice to see Hawthorne win this time, though.
A Strange Arrangement is available now via Stones Throw.
