Michigan-native Mayer Hawthorne riffs off an old Temptations number on his latest single from last year's debut, A Strange Arrangement. In the video, Hawthorne walks slow and sullen down a clear SoCal street, crooning about lost love while a raincloud dumps all over him. Sure, it's a familiar metaphor, but it works here; in part, because Hawthorne's dejected-Peter-Parker-act is kind of hilarious.
By the way, is it just me or does Hawthorne sound a bit like Anita Baker when he hits those low notes? Not that that's a bad thing.
I love this track and the whole LP. Glad to see Mayer gettin' more recognition.

Only known about Mayer for less than a month and really love that album! But then again I love old soul & motown.
