There’s a new album out from Matthew Paul Miller (better known as Matisyahu), titled Light. He performed the first single from the album, “One Day,” on Conan O’Brien’s show last night (Aug. 27), which indicates a subtle move away from his reggae-fied sound to a more straightforward rock style.

The song is full of the usual corny and overbearingly earnest platitudes that Matisyahu has somehow managed to turn into a really successful career. He’s clearly aiming to broaden his fanbase even further with this dull, empty rock sound, but it remains a mystery why anyone would choose a Matisyahu record over his obviously superior influences.
