Recent Dangerbird signees, Maritime (aka some dudes from Promise Ring in a new band) are the latest band to take part in the A.V. Club's Undercover project, choosing to cover Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence," in a way that is basically the opposite of their reckless pop-punk attack. It's also more dirge-like than the bouncy Depeche Mode original, but it also has fewer '80s signifiers, even if one of the dudes plays a keytar here.
Maritime will be putting out their fourth album later this year. [AV Club]
