Marissa Nadler: "The Sun Always Reminds Me Of You"
Marissa Nadler's "The Sun Always Reminds Me of You" began making the rounds last November. Back then, however, we only heard the track as a demo that she promised would appear on her new self-titled album. And she has clearly kept that promise as today, nearly six months later, the final version of "The Sun Always Reminds Me of You" landed on the web.
The acoustic strumming of the original remains, as does the ethereal beauty of Nadler voice. But she has fleshed out the track considerably by adding drums and a pedal steel guitar. The latter adds a distinctively country vibe to the otherwise trademark dream-folk sound she has perfected. And it also previews what could serve as an interesting turn for the Boston-based singer's next project.
