Marissa Nadler: "In Your Lair, Bear" (Video)
Marissa Nadler's new video for "In Your Lair, Bear," off her self-titled LP, is as ghostly as the song that preceeded it. Produced by Nadler and shot at her Massachusetts home by director/co-producer Alec K. Refearn, the visuals here correspond to lyrics like "That old familiar fear/ Creeps up your little arms/ And runs through your veins/ Like blood through your songs." Nadler's wistful voice suits the hazy video and the melancholy lyrics, which seem inseparable after experiencing them together. It runs for about six and a half minutes and retains the song's effect of being both soft and penetrating, which is a very interesting combination. You can watch "Lair" below.
