After numerous delays, producer (and sometimes rapper) 9th Wonder finally released his proper solo debut, The Wonder Years, last week. And right from the jump, he makes sure you know exactly what he’s done and where he’s been with opener “Make It Big.” As it appears on the record, the track features frequent collaborator Khrysis. But in these sharp, Kenneth Price-directed visuals, the focus remains on 9th and his autobiographical rhymes. It’s kind of weird and unfortunate that Khrysis got left out, but this is too well executed to hate on.
