Lykke Li: "Youth Knows No Pain" (Acoustic) (Video)
Lykke Li is fond of stripping down her songs to an acoustic format—as this clip of “Jerome” from earlier this year demonstrates. In the video below she takes the Wounded Rhymes cut “Youth Knows No Pain” into a similar place, with the warble in her voice really shining as her band pieces together a skeletal framework for the track. The black-and-white shoot and various candelabras scattered around the studio lend this session a gothic feel, which Li has been working hard to cultivate since the beginning of her career. That feeling is heightened when she gives the camera a dead-on black eyed stare at the end, before she leaves and takes her band members with her. [via Disco Naivete]
