In his post on Lupe Fiasco's Late Show with David Letterman appearance earlier this week, fellow Prefix writer Andrew Winistorfer opined that the rapper "apparently hasn't had any other big singles since Lasers came out." I thought about that for a few minutes and noted that the Chicago MC does have some other singles, but it's doubtful that they will catch on like "The Show Goes On."
I regret writing that, though, because I can definitely see "Words I Never Said" taking off. A big reason for that is Skylar Grey, she of "I Need a Doctor" fame, and the fact that it seems like a track of this kind makes some waves every few years. Also, Fiasco does have a rabid fanbase, who probably think the video for "Words I Never Said" is the greatest thing ever. I wouldn't go that far, but it is pretty effective.
