Lupe Fiasco: "Monster Freestyle" f. Sway DaSafo
I am really not a fan of how freely the term "freestyle" is thrown around these days, though I must admit the alternative, "freeverse," is pretty goddamn lame, too. It's just that 90 percent, if not more, of these freestyles aren't actually off the top. Gripes aside, Lupe Fiasco and Sway DaSafo linked up recently on DJ Semtex's BBC Radio 1 show to spit over Kanye West's "Monster." Both do the beat justice and then some, perhaps proving that Lupe and Sway made the right decision in appearing together on the former's forthcoming Lasers album.
