Lupe Fiasco

'Enemy Of The State: A Love Story' (Mixtape - Download)

Lupe Fiasco's been roaming under the radar after his last album, especially its smash hit "Superstar," made him, well, a superstar. He was a prominent MC before then, what with his acclaimed debut: Food & Liquor. But The Cool awarded him popularity in a true "pop" sense. We learned the Chicago MC could do more than just rap very, very well. He could write a huge pop-orientated single, too. But that was followed by false retirement statements and little more than a freestyle here and there. And with all these new rappers such as Drake and J. Cole gaining notoriety,it would only make sense that Lupe would return to the medium so many of us heard him on first: the mixtape. Enemy Of The State: A Love Story is the first of what will be a series of holiday-released mixtapes -- its sequel will drop on Christmas. This project features Lupe spitting over, among others, Slaughterhouse's "The One," Jay-Z's "Thank You,"and Radiohead's "The National Anthem."
