The goal of Ludacris' new mixtape, 1.21 Gigawatts: Back to the First Time, can be found in its subtitle. Yes, the ATL spitter wants to recapture that fire he had on his earliest albums, most notably his similarly titled debut, Back for the First Time. The key difference off the bat, though, is the inclusion of high-profile guests. Across the tape's 12 tracks, you'll hear guest verses and hooks from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T., Waka Flocka, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, and 2 Chainz.
That's not a bad lineup if you ask me, and honestly, the leaks we've heard from the project have been mostly on point. We were particularly taken by "Muthafucka Can You Buy That" and "I'm on Fire," the latter of which features K.R.I.T. Consider the mixtape a precursor to Luda's proper new album, Ludaversal, which is due out at some point next year. You can download 1.21 Gigawatts at Dat Piff.
