The steady decline of the music industry has caused some unlikely albums to sneak into the Billboard Hot 100. One of those records is Low’s C’Mon, which hit the #79 slot on its release earlier this year, thus making them unlikely chart stars. This sudden spurt of popularity is unlikely to change the legendary slowcore outfit, as this clip of the delicate “Try to Sleep” from that record demonstrates. This version of the song was shot for the Alternate Side and features some typically beautiful vocal interplay between Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, which is layered over a tender backing that edges toward discordance on occasion.
