Carson Daly is at pains to point out that this isn’t a repeat performance from spiky Welsh indie rockers Los Campesinos! when he introduces them on the show—I guess he must really, really like them. The band performs live at the El Rey, which is where they were shot last time the appeared on Last Call, but this time giving an airing to “Straight In At 101” from Romance Is Boring.
The best way to experience the euphoric retro guitar sounds of Los Campesinos! is in a packed crowd, and while this is no replacement, it’s still the next best thing. The band even gives a shout-out to Daly in the intro, which will no doubt please him now he has promised to dedicate more time on the show to music.
