Who would have predicted, three years ago, that a Pusha T feature would guarantee that a Lloyd Banks single would get a video? I mean, Pusha's boss back then was Pharrell (or whoever was running their label), and Lloyd's was 50. Now Pusha is in Kanye's clique, and his profile is undoubtedly larger than Banks's. It also helps that "Home Sweet Home" is one of the best Banks songs, pretty much ever, riding on a soulful sample and a noisy beat, with a vintage, great verse from Pusha, who talks the impossibility of remaining hard and also turning the other cheek. This is a pretty remarkable track: It makes Lloyd Banks seem relevant again, in a way beyond him being the better version of Shyne.
Banks' Hunger for More 2 is out now.
