Hip-hop star LL Cool J has snatched elements of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” for this tribute to the King of Pop. "After hearing the tragic news of Michael Jackson's death, the lyrics for the 'Billie Jean' remix came to me in a dream," he told Billboard. "Michael was one of my childhood idols and has always been a great inspiration to me."
The song is part of a contest LL has set on his Boomdizzle website, where he is encouraging fans to send in video and audio tracks in tribute to Jackson. Remixes, photo montage and original songs are all encouraged, with the winners gaining the chance to be interviewed on the Boomdizzle site.
