Little Boots: "Shake"
Victoria Hesketh aka Little Boots is preparing to drop the followup LP to her debut, Hands, in early 2012. Released today on vinyl and download, "Shake" is Boots' lead single off her sophomore effort. It mixes the dream-inducing power of repeating "lalalalalala" with a sturdy, tubular bass line. The track was produced by Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford, also known for producing work by Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets and Peaches, among a slew of others. "Shake" is steeped in retro chic vocals and balances its demanding pulse with the silk in Hesketh's delivery. Apparently, the song was created toward the end of recording her followup, so it's tough to guess where Little Boots is going from here.
