I believe that I have solved the mystery behind The Golden Filter: they are robots. Is there any other explanation for their consistent, steadily incredible output, remix and otherwise? It wasn't long ago that they put out three different remixes for Polly Scattergood's "Please Don't Touch," and now there is this remix for Little Boots' newest single, "New In Town." It replaces the original's confidence with The Golden Filter's by now trademark, dank chill, accomplished with the courtesy of a lightly-employed plodding synth riff and some haunted house atmospherics in the background. The whole affair is a shining mess that testifies to The Golden Filter's ability to make tracks their own without making them all sound the same. I really like the original, but this is great too.
Also, how much longer until Little Boots becomes huge?
