Sincere music fans always seem to have a sort of kneejerk reaction to protect their favorite artists from the cold, harsh light of the mainstream. It now seems that the internet music media were a little too quick to crown Little Boots the new indie disco queen. Boots recently wrote on her blog: "I've always said from day one i don't want to be an indie thing, i have no desire to be 'cool'... i'm crap at it! and even if this whole thing started with a girl in a garage with a piano the last thing it had was DIY ambitions, i've always wanted to reach as many people as possible and just write great songs."
Admirable ambitions indeed. And it might not matter how many records she sells, if her sensibilities lead to remixes like this one from French house king, who's never met a tune that he could stretch out into the wee hours, as languid and bedroom-eyed as possible. He even manages to make the pretty weak lyric, "I'm gonna take you out tonight/I'm gonna make you feel all right," feel convincing. Little Boots can sell as many records as she wants, as long as the dancefloor anthems keep coming.

Are you sure that this is Fred Falke? It doesn't sound anything like his recent remixes. For one thing, he usually strips the vocal without including any of the original backing track. Then, he adds atmospheric synths and melodic bass. This track lacks all of that, relying on a standard rhythm guitar and percolating appegios to carry it, with snares building in the background.
I think this is either an imposter or a new direction for Mr. Falke.
