Just like you can expect rappers to jump on hot indie rock songs like MGMT's "Time to Pretend," you can expect the inverse: indie rockers covering rap songs. Here's the latest entry in this meme: Alt-Country troubador Lissie recently covered Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" live in concert, and it wasn't bad. In fact, it's pretty cool, especially in the haunting group vocals choruses, and the killer guitar solo at the end. It gets kind of screamo at the end, but still, this is better than at least three-quarters of these things. It's also way less cloying than any hip-hop cover Ben Folds has ever done.
