Lily Allen

"The Fear" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

Lily Allen brought “The Fear” to the Late Show with David Letterman on Friday (April 24). Avid TV viewers could be forgiven for thinking that Allen only has one song; she has recently played “The Fear” on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, the Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the Tonight Show.

This performance signaled the end of Allen’s North American tour to promote It’s Not Me, It’s You, which was blighted by a $2,000 fine for the singer after an ice cream fight veered out of control in a dressing room at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto. We may be in the middle of a recession, but it’s heartening to know that some pop stars are still willing to blow a sizable amount of cash on excess and ice cream.

It's good that people realizes that Lily Allen is worth more than just one song, or that she knows that it's being over played but the U.S. is not as familiar with the song, as they are in Europe. Perhaps it went a bit overboard, but what sounds like a one hit wonder ''can in her case be a breath of fresh air to American music listeners. Because she can back up her talent with more than just one hit.
